Thanks for those links (I do actually use Google on a regular basis :-) but I'm afraid the link to British Antiquities will only partially load and so I can't reference the Stonehenge illustration. After reading the introduction* to Stonehenge, 3D Ancient Britain I decided to give it a miss ;-)

* "The world-famous Stonehenge is located in Glastonbury in England..."

Oh, too bad. The virtual reconstruction is totally cool. Of course I have no idea how accurate it is; in fact it looks a little TOO precisely spaced to be completely true to life, and the virtual stones themselves are pretty crude polygons. But it's wonderfully interactive, and provides viewing both from the air and the ground.

I like it because it confirms my thoughts about the place being a stone mind prison. But that's just me.

Littlestone,
You need to download the annoying ActiveX thingy. It prompts you when you click on the empty space where the image should be. Once downloaded, use your arrow keys to "walk" amongst the stones. It's not bad, and gives an idea of what it "might" (my word, and inverted commas) have looked like from within the trilithon circle - very closed in.
Regards,
TE.

Hi there

Whoops- yes apologies for that.

We built the stonehenge, as our first ancient wonder on our website http://www.3dancientwonders.com

Thanks for the feedback, we have updated the location to "Amesbury"

Most 3d ancient wonders on the site are modelled from what photos, sketches or plans we can find.

Did anyone have any future suggestions they'd like to see on the site?

Best regards

ps. we have just added the Temple of Khons, using some new light mapping techniques!
