Naive question

They don't need a visitors centre. The henge can be viewed from the road, meaning that the public can view them without having to pay EH their expensive entrance fee.

They even have stewards on the road telling drivers to move on, that they're not allowed to stop at that point. On a public highway.

I may be naive too, but wasn't Stonehenge bequeathed to "the English nation" many years ago?? How come EH can overide that?? What democratic process was invoked to make Stonehenge into a consumer item? I remember how angry I was when I was confronted by some officious steward when i went to the Equinox celebrations there years ago. why can't we take action to challenge the rights of EH to organize things there??
