Warmer summers & colder winters is all down to atmospheric conditions. Less cloud lets more sunlight in during the summer so it gets warm. Whereas in winter less cloud lets more heat out so it gets colder.

Yes, but first you've got to generate the conditions to produce less cloud in summer and winter.
I just can't see it in these isles.
