Given their sensitivity so far, it wouldn't surprise me to find they'll opt for a cut 'n cover tunnel :-(

... which is precisely what English Heritage supported for a long time.

Credit where it's due to the NT though. People were so relieved to get the bored tunnel that they were willing to settle for the short version. But upon mature reflection, the longer the better, and it's worth a try.
