Lets face it, it's always good to see a bit of Neolithic on the telly and we should feel smug about being able to pick holes in it. The great and mighty were certainly all there. Parker Pearson is really annoying but knowledgable. Julian Thomas and Josh Pollard were paraded to add authenticity (reading THomas always leaves my head hurting). At the end of the day I think this is the way to go for Time Team, piggy backing on digs in progress providing a snapshot rather than bodging a rushed dig.
Woodhenge was conspicuous by its absence and the connection with the Avon and Stonehenge has always been obvious because of the entrance/exit. Finding a path/roadway merely confirms the bloody obvious anyway. The 'houses' were interesting and practically unique. Parallels with The Sanctuary and Stanton could have been brought out. Mike Pitts makes a lot of the 'processs' of building, maintaining and rebuilding the timber circles (especially The Sanctuary), I thought Parker Pearson's view supported this but was not linked.
