Date wise how do the earliest scottish chambered tombs compare with the wessex LBs/CEs?
Scottish dates are usually poor for the earlier tombs and estimates tend to be later than 3700 BC if not considerably later .

Things like an apparent total absence of CEs in scotland does nothing to help make the picture any clearer.
Yes, it's a hotch potch like many cultures, borrowing bits here and ignoring others here (CE's ), mostly from near neighbours who eventually become "us" .
