For anyone thinking of visiting Orkney in the next few weeks, the Northlink ferry on the Scrabster to Stromness route is out of action until at least the 26th May with a broken camshaft.

Fortunately, I was able to rearrange my return journey on the Pentland ferry before it filled up. While it would be pleasant being stuck here, it wouldn't be very practical!
