Drew I'm not really sure how far afield we'll end up going, but thanks for showing me the highlights closest as that really helps! :-)

It helps so much to have a list like this LOL. I've been looking at the maps on here going 'woooooah, too much, too much!' hee hee

Oddly enough, I realised yesterday that whilst I've visited Midmar Kirk at least twice on day trips that way, I can't think I have ever been to Sunhoney - and yet it's only 2kn away!! Very odd... :-S

When the missus and I went a few years back we saw 18 circles and a cairn in 3 days. We were based further north and it was a touch hectic :)

I'd definitely recommend Auchquhorthies & Auld Bourtreebush which are well worth the trek across the fields and pretty much slap bang where you'll be. Tyrebagger is a must if you head up just past aberdeen. Oh and I adored sunhoney, could have spent weeks there....

Up the A96 and look around Insch and Inverurie. Loads of hillforts plus some stunning Pictish stones plus literally hundreds of RSCs, cairns, etc etc
