It's almost de rigueur to wear one at some "dos" , I'd sooner go as a morris dancer , maybe a redcoat would be going too far .

I wear one occasionally (excuse is I'm over 50 now and probably middle-class now - I have MUCH more problems with that by the way!), but the more I've found out about the history of tartan and kilts the harder it gets to put one on.
