Hi Greywether

It's taken me a while to get round to looking at your photos. They're really interesting.

I guess you put the photos of the spherical objects in question under the 'Aberdeenshire' part of TMA because they belong to the University of Aberdeen collection.

Is there any chance of hooking specific photos up with the sites where the balls were found? I know you've lost some of your notes, but maybe some of 'em are traceable. Just a thought. It would spread the material out a bit, and make it easier to put into context (IMHO).

I've noticed other ppl have done that as well, its certainly nice to see barrow finds pictured with a barrow if you are wondering about an area!

(though I don't envy you trying to sort out those pictures, I'd make a right balls up)

Agreed - better to have the photos with the sites.

So I went back to Dorothy Marshall's articles to get more info on findspots. However, she makes the point that few have been found in archaeological sites.

I checked her catalogue to see if ANY of the individual photos posted were in respect of those few which can be attached to sites but, sadly, none can be.

So I think we have to leave them where they are.
