there are not one but 2 Beowulf films:

"Beowulf" is in production just now and is an American film directed by Robert Zemeckis (of Back To The Future fame)

"Beowulf & Grendel" is a British / Icelandic / Canadian co-production filmed in Iceland and starring mainly Scandinavian actors and Gerard Butler in the title role. it should be out early this year http://www.beowulf-movie.com

Completely off-topic I'm afraid but there's a terrific Korean Film on BBC4 tonight called <b>Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... and Spring</b> about a Buddhist monk, the seasons, and a boy.
