Torside Castle

I was up there this weekend. I disagree with the theory that this is a natural outcrop. The vegetation does not match that of the surrounding area and its form is not compatable with the landscape either. The roman theory can be dismissed. The nearest fort is at Melandra Castle, some 15 miles away adn teh romans without esxception buried their dead in the immediate proximity of forts adn towns. The most likely theory is surely that this is some form of prehistoric structure, but I can't go beyond that. Paranormal Lights..nah!

English Heritage's Pastscape site says no longer thought castle but "believed" to be natural . So they only know for sure what it isn't . Do you have a grid reference ?

The different vegetation could be explained by the fire that swept the area last year .
