I was there a few days ago. The farmer's a lovely bloke. Really friendly and astonishingly accommodating. He doesn't object to visitors parking on his property or traipsing right past his front window to reach the stones. He's a gem.

I hope he's not opposed to offerings, because I left a bottle of wine on his doorstep as a "thank you" when I left ;)

Your post reminded me: apparently, the farmer at Long Meg doesn't like offerings. There was a hawthorn growing near to the parking space at Long Meg, then people started to hang offerings from it.

The bush was cut down two months ago.
