Thanks E. My problem was how they came up with a BA date without anything dateable . The view to the West over Sellafield etc might give a clue as it looks like good habitable terrain rather than row upon row of more hills and therefore it could be the focal point from the plain .

As well as being visible from the west Cumbrian plain, there's also the intervisibility with Sampson's Bratfull and other cairns on Stockdale Moor, and the possible BA cairn on Lank Rigg.
