Cheers Beaker, that's good info. Will print and take with me.

Ulverston is a good place to stay; I seem to recall it has more pubs per person than any other town in England! Also has the unmissable Laurel and Hardy museum....what more could you ask for?

I would suggest Oddendale and Gamelands if you have time but, if you are really wanting to concentrate on W Cumbria then you've pretty much covered it with your list already.

Have fun, it is the most beautiful of places

J & I have both done a cuppla blogs on Cumbria that might help too - tho I suspect you've plenty of info to be going on with!!! You'll have a great time anyway!!!

PS Burn Moor, mentioned by a cuppla peeps IS ace btw - tho the monuments in themselves aren't that spectacular, there's summat magical up there! Mebbe it's coz you don't get much more off the beaten track!!! (But it's also VERY time consuming if y're limited!)
