Sounds, erm, idyllic!

Saturday was good, using the 49 as you'd expect. I wanted to finally get to Winterbourne Bassett (though hardly worth the effort) and it's almost exactly four years since I last went up onto Windmill Hill, so a revisit was overdue. The sun shone all the way, until halfway round the SW quadrant. By the time I got to the Cove it was chucking it down!

If you saw anybody gioing around measuring water levels at springs etc it was Steve .

I saw bugger-all people until I got to Avebury!

Actually, there was one person (female, so not Steve) lecturing two companions at the Barber Stone about readings of some sort taken from the stones, turned into high-frequency noise on a laptop and then stated as being proof that "our ancient ancestors had highly attuned senses" that allowed them to hear these noises. I hadn't realised we were descended from bats, but I had to smile.
