im hoping to visit some fogous next week- could anybody suggest the most accessable and indeed most worthy of a visit? when i say accessable (is that how you spell accessable?- side topic) i mean ones that are open to the public without too much fuss involved to gain access- its hard to tell just by looking at a map

Hi Olly

Boleigh Fogou is fantastically accessible, although you need to call Rob, who owns the house and land on which it is situated, as a courtesy (and to make sure it's ok - it IS his back garden, after all!) the number used to be 01736 810530.

Halligye Fogou is also great. but there's a charge to park anywhere near it. It's worth it.

Can't think of any more off the top of me head!

Oh! Carn Euny! That's free, on public land, and incredible!

Hope that helps, ya lucky swine! ;)

Yes, Carn Euny is a must see and there is a whole load of other stuff to look at also.

While I was there I visited Lower Boscaswell and Pendeen Vau Fogous too which if I remember, were easy access. Although not a nice as Carn Euny.

Have a good trip

:o)

As well as the others mentioned above, all of which I'd recommend, there's also Trewardreva Fogou near Constantine (if memory serves, no maps handy at the mo)

Of course, it all depends which part of Cornwall you're going to be based in...
