we are going to be in cornwall the second week of june and are planning to have at least one day visiting the stones,

we have been to Men-an-tol and the hurlers, hopefully going to spend a day down lands end way visiting places.

but is there any sugestions for the best places down cornwall?

A quick search reveals the following threads:

Hope these are some use!

There are two ways to tackle a trip to Cornwall:

1. Ask where the 'best' sites are and hope someone else does the work - you've already managed to get someone to do the search for you of previous recommendations, well done! :-) :-)

2. Check on here for previous recommendations (see above), look at the sites listed on TMA and elsewhere and compile your own itinerary, based upon your time available, likely location(s) and site preferences - some people love lumps 'n bumps, others prefer big old rocks. What's *your* preference?

The fun is in the planning. All else is just exercise :-)

Probably not that helpful but might inspire you:

Have a great trip!

Michael.

well its nearly time for us to go away
and the trip to the stones is kind of planned.

im looking forward to it.
im sure ill come back with 1000's of photos.

got back the weekend

spent a day going round a few stones and getting lost in the car round lands end way. took 100's of photos. then even managed a few days later to find a few more stones while lost looking for something else.

was an excellent holiday and i cant wait to get back and find the ones we missed, will also be planning a trip to Anglesea soon to see whats around there.

managed to get the Cornovia book in Trago Mills in falmouth for £12.15 instead of the £16.99 so if anyones is around there id recommend popping in to get it. its a good book. just got to find time to sit down and read it now.

Avoid Padstow on May 1st, particularly if you've got long hair and dress in black.

anyone been to Chun Quoit? we went waliking for ages down a country lane trying to find it and didnt find anything, though after reading a book, it seems it might have been up the hill that i said i wouldnt be up.

ahhh thanks goffik, looks like we were in the right place, just down the wrong bit according to that link, wish i had google earth on my phone, would have made it a lot easyer. its a shame coz now im back in birmingham and will have to wait probably till next year now to go back.

we parked down by that farm you can see on the link and then tracked down the dirt road for about 10 mins instead of walking up the hill, and the stupid thing is someone else was walking up the hill but me being stupid thought it was the person who lived there walking her dog, even though there was another car parked at the bottom of the hill.

basically im an idiot hahah
