Anyone familiar with the area around Men an Tol?

I still need to find that damn well! I've found a likely tree that it might be under, and found a largish rectangular ditch next to it, but no stones! Am I in the wrong place tehn? Dammit! ;)

Squid - Mrs G and I made the same mistake the first time we went there. In shorts. Which was a big mistake because the path was, at the time, pretty indistinguishable due to gorse! Ouch! And it was a scorcher, and we got a bit sunburned. Happy days! :D

But... Sorry - didn't see the stones you're referring to! Useless, huh? ;)

We passed a local walking his dog and he told us to watch out for the disused open mines hidden in the undergrowth - couldn't be something to do with those, could it? Or he could have been pulling our leg... :)

We might be visiting the end of September - might go for a looksee!

One of the reasons I didn't venture off the path to investigate further was the possibility of mining holes! Don't think it was a well btw, but I could be wrong.

Hi Goffic et al

I think I have asked before about that square hole just to the right of the path from Men an Tol to Ding Dong. It was very overgrown when me an Ocifant passed it with Scubi last but when i first found it a few years ago it was open enough for me to make out it was squarish...

I thought I had a photo of it but can't find one...perhaps it was pre digital.
