Burning the Pope?
Hi Nidge
Haven't said so yet, but welcome to TMA. The pope burning reference is about the Lewes fire festival they have on bonfire night every year. They burn effigies of 'His Holiness' and swing great fire poi and have a bloody good anti-catholic knees-up. a practice which I heartily approve of.

Do they have standing stones in Jamaica?

Hello Jane
Thank you for the welcome. As a little girl I was brought up as both catholic, going to church on sundays, feast days, etc. and another tradition where I went with my granny and uncle Doc. Standing stones? I dont remember, although I do remember streams, rocks, trees and even little ordinary plots of land that had spiritual significance. I will ask my uncle Doc about the stones, next time I hear from him.
