I've heard of the one in Zennor - apparently, if you climb on it without rocking it 9 times at midnight, you become a witch! If you're a woman. Or something. I think it's mentioned in Robert Hunt's "Popular Romances of the West of England"

Also there's one at <a href="http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/1718">Helman Tor</a> - which, incidentally, I didn't find!

There do seem to be a lot in Cornwall!

There's actually (at least) 2 in Zennor - the Giant's rock, down behind the church and across the fields somewhere, which I think is the one you refer to.

The other I know of is marked on the map at the top of Zennor Hill...

I wish I had known it was so easy to become a witch. I had to send in two box tops and 50 cents. Rocking the stone would have made a nice souvenier when I visited England in 2002.
