Lindisfarne

Quite a find!

I found unmistakable cup marks a month or two ago at this site...

...that I can find no reference to in any of the local literature. I guess none of you will believe me without photos though! : (

I'll be contacting Stan (who is a friend of my Grandmother's and often to be found drinking her tea & eating her cake) about it in the near future. I'm holding off for the time being, though, cause I need to get back up there with my camera. I think it very likely that there'll be more rock art very close at hand, too, so I want to explore more fully before I get in touch with him.

Pictures coming soon, is all I can promise...

I bet you are "dead chuffed", Pebblethief. Its quite a feeling to make such a discovery! I think its strange and wonderful that someone who has spent so much time around rock art, and who clearly loves rock art so much, should just "chance" upon such a beautiful stone! Somewhat larger than your usual pebbles, though, eh?

Wow! A wonderful atmosphere to your descriptions there.
I have loved Lindisfarne for years (before I even lived nearby) but that beach will be special now.
I think it's fairly certain tho that it was not in it's original location, so the "mood" wasn't the intended one. But a fantastic location all the same.

Come on Tombo, crack out the camera and cake!
