Ah, who else wants a bit of Thornborough? It's all going very cheap, £10.00 a ton or a £35.00 donation to charity for a weekends digging around. None of the proceeds goes to help Thornborough of course but then its a resource - to be exploited?

Oh and I forgot - Tarmac are putting on a firework display next month at their quarry - more "benefits" funded by the loss of our heritage.

You're over-cynical to say that no heritage benefit arises from all these people wanting to take a bit of Thornborough for themselves.

What about the two items that a creep at the detecting rally speedily wacked up on EBay? A lady in Oz bought them from him and gave them to York Museum as she thought that's where they belonged.
