Sign up for the smartgroup for a start. That makes you an active member of Friends of Thornborough and will make our membership swell to close on to 300.

Freinds is still being sluggish in some areas, giving our members things to do is one of them, although we have been very active with the local paper based petition for example and now have close on to 1,000 signatures, including most of the landowners employees! and 95% of the immediate local community. eventually we will be rolling this out to wider population centers - cities and the likes, you might like to get involved there.

Promotion is the name of the game currently, I have been working very hard on a range of posters, leaflets, static displays etc. These are just stating to go public, our first static display went up at Snape community fare today, we are now looking for places where we can place posters (York is a prime candidate for example, given the number of historically aware vistors) and have static displays and also full presentations, for example, I am booked to present in wales to a uni archy soc in a few months time, so you may have some suggestions.

Specifically for members of TMA, what I've been thinkning about is asking for personal testimonials to accompany the petition, this might appeal to a man or your elloquence, the idea is to build a dosier of personal accounts of the sites impact and what the personal impact of the suggested activities would have on these people.

There are many many other ways to get involved of course.
