I noticed this confusion when we were up Inverness way in the summer. Didn't actually get to visit the site though.

It's very a busy landscape up there, so much so that I'd even suggest that the tmaEds would be doing their viewers a big favour if 'Clava Cairn' were added as a separate sub-category of cairn, as like GW says, they're 'two-for-the-price-of-one' monuments (three for one if you include the cupmarks), so they are well worth seeing. There are probably a few people out there who would like to find info on some of the ones that aren't as busy as Balnuaran.

Good idea Hob! I'd support that. There are, tops, 70 sites which could be classed as a Clava cairn (with a passage grave or just a cairn) which must be more than the numbers in many of the existing categories. (How many platform cairns do we have??)

At a rough guess, I'd say up to half of these are already on TMA - but these will be the best preserved ones most would want to visit.
