Hi Kammer
Sometimes I feel I should be a resident lol! No, I'm from Yorkshire myself but I like to spend a lot of time up in the Highlands and Islands. I defy anyone not to be impressed by the archealogy and the breathtaking beauty to be found there.
I think I may have gotten a little carried away with my postings lol! I thought I'd share Muckle Flugga with the site as I noted there was a section for 'Rocky Outcrops' and what better rocky outcrop to see than the one at the very northernmost point of Britain.
I've looked up if theres anything archaeological thats ever been found there and alas there isn't :-(
What I do know is that the lighthouse on the rock was built by the family of Robert Louis Stevenson, and the map in the book 'Treasure Island' is supposed to be based on the island of Unst in Shetland. Nothing to do with the prehistoric admittedly but I thought it was a nice qwirky fact :-)
If you don't think it's appropriate for the site though, thats fair enough, let me know and I'll erase it.
Stu xx
