Ignore me. I was half asleep. I was thinking the other day that Newgrange would have been lit up by the moonrise and was all solsticially spaced out.

No, I won't ignore you. Does the moon ever rise as far North as the sun does? If so, it WOULD light up the passage....
Same might apply for sites with a winter solstice solar alignment.
