Right, I've just added a new sight to the Tal Y Fan area, but don't have a clue what it's called. I've seen reference to it in books, but without any given name. Frances Lynch only refers to it in relation to Maen Y Bard (it's only 100 metres away) in her CADW guide, 'Gwynedd'. Cope mentions it, again in relation to Maen Y Bard. If anyone can supply the correct name, I'd be grateful. Otherwise it's just Rhiw Burial Chamber!

Just thought I'd bring this one back to the top after visiting with FWs and having my impression of it expanded by his interpretation...

So, again the question is - does anyone know it's name? Has it ever been given one? Also, has anyone seen any reference to it other than as a footnote to Maen-Y-Bardd?

When I first visited I was pretty impressed, but puzzled why it remained hugely unsung, and so left feeling that there was something I was missing. FWs' enthusiasm for the site confirmed that it is worthy of attention in it's own right, and not just as a minor distraction when visiting Maen-Y-Bardd.

Oh, and the capstone is a real beauty :-)
