me- bike daft- always have been.
I think every car driver should be made to cycle through the centre of a large city in rush hour just to feel what it's like. I'm sorry- but you've got to be a very assertive (aggresive?) cyclist to survive city roads, not one of those prats that sits behind a parked car waiting for a nice motorist to let you out (I also drive a car BTW). I cycle at least a good metre or so out from parked cars cos I've had so many doors opened on me and have landed across a car bonnet or two in my time cos some asshole hasn't bothered to look. I also give other cyclists shit for not wearing helmets, lights and for jumping traffic lights....

Jumping traffic lights and going down oneway streets the wrong way ... those are the two that get me about inner city cyclists. They can not wear a helmet if they want, that's their own stupid choice, but endangering *ME* is a big no-no!

I personally haven't got the guts to ride a bike in Dublin, but I'd love to do the 7 miles to work that way instead of on the bus (I couldn't walk it without breathing aperatus!). It's actually the other bike riders that scare me most, because they make other road users treat all bikes like flies to be swatted through their stupidity.
