Have a family car rather than a car each. Replace old vehicles with a fuel efficient one, albeit less powerful. And sometimes leave it at home.
Wasn't there a campaign recently to try and get people to drive five miles less a week; that seems like a drop in the ocean but if everyone did it - it would help.
