Rats have a bad rep but they're as much a part of the British landscape as any other animal. I would bet that the rats have been living there as long as the barrow has been in existence.........they got a rite and a lineage, I say leave 'em be.

True but people forget that WKLB is a reconstruction by Piggot-Smith from the 1960's.
When it was excavated it was found to be backfilled and sealed so rats wouldn't have been so much of a problem is a sealed tomb.
I wonder if EKLB has the same problem?
