It's a wonderful idea, but contemporary sculptors can't produce objects of actual beauty so it is bound to be a flop. The postcards - artfully framed - will look great but proximity will show the flaws. A long time ago there were billboards beside railway lines and a huge horse, copying Uffington, could work well. I'm to make a list of all the arts correspondents, for the big papers, and to send them a postcard "please don't describe angel of the south as the largest sculpture in the country, as it's not". The honour of that term belongs to a megalithic construction which I recommence next week.
