Well, I consider it to be an utter f**king outrage.

What the hell do the NT and EH think they're there for? Exactly to *prevent* this type of nonsense from a bunch of trendy, balsamic vinagrette swigging, vacuous, airheaded, jumped up never to be forgotten marketing plonkers from Islington. Once again, it's an example of the pea brains in the city being totally divorced from anything in the countryside.

On the back of that religious fascism at Churn Knob, it's making my blood absolutely boil; there's precious little guardianship for this island's heritage and monuments, without the so-called custodians involving themselves in poxy marketing campaigns just to raise £2,000. What will that buy, exactly? A couple of corporate lunches at some swanky establishment, I suspect.

It's completely shameful, and they have betrayed the entire country in this misguided and short term money-grabbing exercise; be sure to look out next year for 'I'm A Celebrity, So It Means We Can Use Any Heritage Site As A Hoarding' concept spewed across Stonehenge/Avebury/Insert Historic Monument Of Your Choice.

Let me at 'em, let me at 'em . . . .

Tossers. All of them.

Forgot to say:

A pox on all their houses, may the fleas of a thousand camels infest their arseholes, and that the female of future generations turn into nursery school teachers in Chesire, whilst the males turn into hamsters and smell of elderberries . . . .

I tend to agree with you, Treacles.
I can't believe it!
Visitors come to England to see our heritage, OK it's sometimes a bit chocolate-box, but at least it's being appreciated.
Picture the scene: A bus full of tourists wanting an explanation as to the meaning of The Eye, the host stuttering the words "I think it's for telly..."
Then they aren't allowed to climb Silbury or touch Stonehenge because they are being preserved.

Actually some visitors from the most Capitalist countries (we know who they are) will probably not see a problem with it...?

Sad.
Why not paint a big tupperware advert on there too.
