I'm not even sure about that. The publicity machine will have scans of every picture, document and article in the TC, available forever on the www, so there is no need to dig anything up, ever, making it pointless even putting the thing there in the first place.

The right place for the TC is in the ground beneath the current school, because the reason for it being suggested was because the school is closing this year.

The real problem is the precedent it creates, and not just at Silbury. Anyone with a media-friendly suggestion will have to be taken seriously in the wake of this foreign object being placed where it shouldn't. Maybe Avebury will have ash-scattering days [£150 + VAT] set aside for those of us who'd like a bit of us left there after we die. How about Men-An-Tol being hired out to childless couples for sexual acts in the hope of increasing fertility [Half price if you don't mind being on webcam]?

But it doesn't have to be media friendly or involve asking anyone to take the idea seriously. There are loads and loads and loads of people who want to leave all manner of stuff (including paintings!) and bury crystals and all the rest of it at scheduled sites as part of THEIR perceived and self-proclaimed right to interact with places as they see fit. Who in EH will be able to look them in the eye and say don't?
