'oh yeah - the EH minutes show (whatever choice is decided) there is no hurry, Silbury as far as anyone (that is Nigel, archaeologists, EH, Uncle Tom Cobbly and all) can tell is stable - so lets rush in and make the wrong choice ay???'

Thankyou, an opinion on the minutes makes a refreshing change.

I'm no archeologist or structural engineer, but 5 years to make a decision about this seems far too long in my eyes. Do you know why its taken this long?

No.

Its often the way government quangos work....but it doesn't mean the people involved don't care. Perhaps it needs more time to get it right this time - whatever that means....

FWIW, I think it would be a waste to not try and use the tunnel that is there to gain more insight into Silbury.
