Anyone out there recognise this description of themselves. Him: reflective sunglasses, her bag of blackberries. We met you on Sunday and had a chat about the Polishing stone.

Delling Copse was bristling with wildlfe. Unfortunately it was all captive; young pheasants being bred for sport. Got a nasty electric shock off the fence during my visit but was pleased with the photo of the shiny stone. Rhiannon-please forgive me if I've revealed too much about how to find this site - I'm in agreement with you on directions to this place. Less is more. ;-)

I think your directions are just fine!

You know what I mean though, when you see what people do at West kennet and Avebury and countless other places (eg all the wax and smoke, and the 'hi julian' scratched on the board at Uley) - and these are people who presumably profess to be interested / care about the sites. Most people can't be bothered to walk far enough to get to places like the mother's jam and the polisher stone, thank god.

It's all been said before, I know. But it's a subject guaranteed to wind me up (and I'm sure many others).

Glad you liked the place! I thought it was great.
