I found the article. The author calls them Mutilated Kistaven, Fallen Kistaven and Devils Den Cromlech.
There is a sketch of the second which has 3 stones and a small mound.
The following year he found workmen breaking the stones up.
The mutilated one had all but disappeard into a pile of field clearance rubble.
I didn't note the authors name but will check next time I'm in the library.
