Thank you too, for you kind comment Tiompan, though I have to say there is always luck involved when searching for information on the internet.

Stonegloves, the most obvious 'iron element' healing spring that comes to mind is the Red Spring in Chalice Well Garden at Glastonbury. It is long way from you though, I should think anywhere in Scotland would be nearer.

Rhiannon (or anyone else) I was wondering if you knew anything about the 'rare geological phenomenon' mud springs at Wootton Bassett in north Wiltshire. I haven't actually seen them myself.
