Hi KC,

Nice photo’s there, glad you managed to get there ok and had good weather to take them.

I managed to get up there on the Sunday and went for a pleasant walkabout with Rhiannon. We strolled up to Penning round barrows followed by a walk back down through Avebury’s SE quadrant and along the WK Avenue. After a quick visit to the Faulkner stone circle we then went up and over Waden Hill and back along the (dry) Kennet back to the carpark. In all I think that took about 3 hours but we weren’t in a rush and stopped to look at many interesting things and I learnt a great deal about lichen and moss (cheers Rh).

When you get the chance to visit the area again give us a shout.

:o)

Chris

Sounds like a top day out Scubs.

Will do. I was a little rushed, in the end. And quite tired after a weekend that had been crammed with a fair bit of socialising, work and play. It really needs a proper full day of its own, IMO. I was just glad to finally be there. A lovely place.

Thank you, it was a very interesting afternoon. You don't have to be kind about the moss and lichen, I know it's weird. It was very nice though to see new places around Avebury, especially the little polisher here

- and all the places really. Excellent.
