Yes, couldn't agree with you more Mr M.

Apologies if you already know other pubs around Avebury, but if not you can get a much better meal at the Waggon and Horses at Beckhampton, and an even better one at the White Horse Inn at Winterbourne Bassett. Yep.
I agree.
The Red Lion has been crap for years. Ever since Ex-Heads Tim and Leslie left.

The Waggon and Horses is my local and the food is fantastic,fresh and home cooked. None of that ready made portions from Brake Brothers rubbish either. It's cooked to order for you and if you have to wait 20mins for your food you know why.

Cheers. I've always enjoyed (in principle!) the idea of eating amongst the stones, but the Lion is forcing me to venture further afield. It's a disgrace. Without exaggerating, I can honestly say I've had better food at Little Chef.
