Well here's a photo of Silbaby with the Kennet at its foot.. even if some don't believe it is old ;)

As a water worshipper, reckon its a peaceful bit of the Kennet not much visited by people, the Kennet has a tranquil transparent quality in which to view the 'otherworld'. Also what about the palisaded enclosures did'nt the river meander through them as well....
Its clear translucency is the magical bit of course and that soft rippling noise it makes....

Nice photo moss (except for them there rooty tree things all over it ;-)

Wot really struck me about the Great Bank was how high you feel you are when you're standing on top of it and looking down on the meadows, and the Kennet flowing below - you'd never imagine it was so high looking at it from the WK footpath - there's almost a optical illusion at play.
