Leaving aside the question of money for once, there is the major problem of sending out the wrong signals. ie telling yobs that riding bikes over an ancient site is ok! 'No cycling' signs won't necessarily deter them when they've seen it done.

Leave it, bruv, it ain't worf it! We've tried getting sense out of this one before... Add it to the pile of know-it-alls and chalk it up to experience...
