Amesbury, Durrington and Ludgershall have 3 of the worst secondary schools in the county, "decent" jobs are few, there are no cultural facilties nearby except in Salisbury which costs about a fiver return.
Having said that though, a lot of locals like going out into the ritual landscape, a good few do understand what is going on out there, and perhaps don't feel the need for a specialist magazine.

I didn't know the schools were that bad, I wonder why ?

The shop I visited is on a main road so I guess it has a lot of people on it going to Salisbury as well as Stonehenge, I suppose the most outstanding thing is that there was not one but several of these mags, with perhaps 3 or four of each in stock. I suppose they could be whatever the distributor sends out rather than what the shopkeeper orders, but this is worrying as surely it promotes both image and beghaviour. What people browse gives them ideas etc.

I often see the 4x4 offroaders cleaning their vehicles in garages on Sunday lunchtimes, then they are parked up at a country pub; so I always took it that these people come into this area to do this just as city folk go to the countryside to go fishing or whatever. They buy their mags elsewhere perhaps ?

So where do you see Brit Archaeo and Current Archaeo on sale ? Railway stations ? They aint stocked in Smiths I don't think.

Sorry, this is all jumbled thoughts, having one of those days...
