handfasting = pagan wedding

I've been compilng my targets list today. Sso far I'm hoping to get over to see Nonna's Well, Pelynt barrows and Castle Dore all over your way this time round. We'll see...

Many, many grateful and hunble thanks!! Again, I apologise for asking such a menial question. Everyone here always seems so helpful!

The first time my mother and I tried to find the circle we went from the A30, and just got horribly lost being completely unable to work out which path we needed. When we finally found it we went down the track to the farm, but I wasn't sure if we were actually allowed to.

I really should bite the bullet and just get in and ask a farmer for permission to see something on private land soon, as I am sure it won't be as difficult as I keep worrying! However, my main concern at the moment is how many megalithic sites I can persuade my friends (who want to do such "fun" things as the Lands End complex - eek!) to visit. This, and a few others, they are not getting any choice about, though.

Many thanks once more.

Nonna's Well..or St Nuns...is well worth a visit. The owner of the site has done a great job in recent years to clean the site up and improve the access. When I first visited about 10 years ago you had to fight off the cattle...you would not have liked it!...Nowadays it is all fenced in and steps allow access from the road above. Add to that fantastic views up and down the West Looe valley.

There is nothing to see at Pelynt barrows, all ploughed out years ago..better to head for the ones near Boconnoc that I posted a few weeks back.

Castle Dore..watch out for the cows!

Get in touch closer to the time if you have time for a pot of tea.......or there's always Goffik's pint that he has still not come down for...
