Daylight in the Fogou?

I was at the Fogou Saturday, and the bottom end is collapsing. You can see daylight at the end of the passage. I wonder if this is a recent development, or has it been like this for a while?
You can see where it's collapsing from outside. The owner of the house said he's going to re-build it. Sorry if this is old news, but I thought it worth posting.

its been ongoing for some time, hence the surrounding trees were cut down some time ago, the spreading root structures slowly undermining the integerity of the fogou.Also i was informed some time ago that a tree had come down in the strong winds across the site of the fogou.
I think we have to realise that in time the fogou will degenerate further leading to a total collapse.

Shame really.
