Forgot to mention that a Bronze Age dwelling was apparently discovered at the Primary School, with the possibility of a cursus nearby as well. If so, that's occupation back to the Neolithic.

Yes, i've been looking through the finds in the area, and a lot of neolithic tools have been found within 1km of the site including a quartz mace-head as well as a greenstone mace-head / hammer head.

Also, i don't know if you've seen any OS maps of clare, but they seem to show the remains of a 3rd castle / fort to the east of clare camp.
