Can't be definitive as to what exactly you have in Clare, but it seems current opinion is that this was an Iron Age hill fort later occupied and reused as a Saxon Burgh (fortified town... basically Saxon hillfort) and then as part of the medieval manor of Erbury. Quite a bit of continuity then. I'd be well proud.
English Heritage reckon: Bivallate D-shaped enclosure, probably of Iron Age date, seen as earthworks. Survey carried out by RCHME in 1993.
