There's certainly not a lot around that area of Essex. A couple of (minor) hillforts and that's about it, that I can see. Lots of R*man stuff, Colchester being so close and all.. The Newport Leper is sizable, though, and quite surprising. You may arrange to pass it on your way cross country.

Not sure what's slightly further north, in Suffolk, if anything. I don't have the Landranger maps of that area yet :-)
