Hawkins paper is chiefly valuable for detailed large-scale photogrammetric plans of both Stonehenge and Callanish - the only Callanish plan with contours
The full reference is :

Hawkins, G., 1971 'Photogrammetric Survey of Stonehenge and Callanish'
in a volume entitled 'National Geographic Society Research Reports 1965'; NGS, Washington D.C.

The criminal thing is that, while he had an aerial survey being made of Callanish, they did FIVE other sites in the area as well. The photogrammetry was never done and when I went back to the survey company years later, they had destroyed the original photos and data.

I will check the Hawkins archive and see if there are copies lodged there,

The Callanish article is also in Hawkins' book: Stonehenge decoded, 1965, page 182 to 190. Here he shows that it is a monument that has several lunar alignments (he used the same computer methodology as for Stonehenge).

I am trying to 'revive' this method by the way;-) A little bit more extensive then he did, but in principle the same, so I want to be able to easily do these analysis at other locations and sites (and also to see what statistically is the best place with the most alignments within a certain monument). Should give interesting results, I hope.

All the best,

Victor
