I have some information about midges and various midge repellents on my website here http://www.stravaiging.com/activities/wildlife/midges.php

For those not in the know, if you can't get hold of any specialist midge repellent then any of the Avon "Skin So Soft" range works amazingly well - it's even issued to the Army!

Cheers
Andy

Yip ----- I was at Mugdock Park for the sunset tonight and the little b/stards were out in force ----- could only take it for fifteen minutes before we all beat a hasty retreat back to thecar---- I would also always recommend Skin So Soft -- we get lots of West Highland Way walkers staying with us and I always remind them the Scottish Midge is not to be taken lightly. They can ruin a holiday ---- and dont wear shorts!!!

;-)

Thanks for all the info on midges - must have two slices of Marmite on toast for breakfast instead of one !!

As John O'Brian is staying at the Doune Braes Hotel - a few miles north and the nearest licenced premises to Callanish - can I suggest a bit of a get-together at say 8.30 on Monday June 13th, before going off to watch the moon around midnight onwards. I'm posting this on the Stones Mailing List as well. Looking forward to meeting some of you
